Here is a list of 6 inexpensive gifts to give the photographer in your life that they will ACTUALLY want! No, there are no cheesy shirts or mugs on this post. This post is only filled with items that they will actually use that also won’t break the bank - because photography can be really expensive.

  1. SD Cards

You can not go wrong with getting a photographer a few of these for Christmas. They are relatively inexpensive in the grand scheme of things and photographers can never have enough. SD cards do not last forever and they are a necessary yearly purchase for every photographer regardless of what type of photography they do. I recommend the SanDisk Extreme Pro which ranges from $13-50 depending on the size you get them. Personally, I either use a 64GB or 128 GB.

2. Pelican Case

This is one of the best investments I made to keep images safe while I’m out shooting and the best part is, it’s CHEAP. This SD card case from Pelican is known throughout the industry as being the toughest case out there. Seriously, people have backed cards over there and it’s not broken. If you know a photographer that still uses the flimsy clear cases that come with SD cards then you HAVE to get them this. It’s going to last them for years to come and protect the most valuable asset, their images.

3. Upgraded Tripod

Good riddance to that tripod that barely works and get them a new one with lots of cool features that is at an affordable price point. This tripod from B&H Photo is great for someone who needs to upgrade their equipment.

4. Prism

Prisms are so FUN! I love working with them, they are always a great way to add something different to your workflow and the results are amazing. Often prisms are used by portrait photographers but don’t think that they cant be handy for all types of photography. Prisms are great tools that can add dimension and interest from portraits to landscapes and urban photography. This one is a great affordable one from Amazon and they also make a linear glass prism that is super cool too.

5. Reflector

Reflectors are a wonderful and useful tool for any photographer to have in their kit. They are used to add or subtract light that is hitting a subject. the best part is they are light, easy to use, and this one folds up really small. I have this one from Newer and its great quality and huge, I highly recommend it!

6. Flat lay kit

I saved my favorite one for last! This flat-lay starter kit is perfect for even the most seasoned wedding photographer. It includes a ring box, lace and acrylic blocks for stacking stationary, and other items for detail shots. This seller on Etsy also sells just the acrylic blocks that are great for product photographers as well!

These are my favorite gifts for photographers that are actually affordable. I hope you found this post helpful and useful for gift-giving for photographers. Let me know if you have any thoughts and thanks for reading!
