Vashon Island Lifestyle Session - Mackenzie

portraits with personality

For this mini-session, my sister wanted so updated headshots but needed something a little different. She is an artist and a graphic designer so it was important that these headshots reflected her as an artist. Goodbye, boring headshots! Hello, personalized portraits! My sister and I are always looking for new locations to shoot whenever we are out and about so we went for a drive on a sunny Saturday afternoon around Vashon Island and found this vintage car with its hood conveniently poped. It was a perfect little right place right time accident with the lighting slowly setting behind the car. Its one of my favorite portraits of my sister that I have taken. Next, we went over to our favorite secret spot on the island. The large wheat field is a hidden gem on Vashon Island that I like to keep to just me and my clients :) The field is large and has pockets of matted grass where the deer sleep at night. The light is always perfect at this location as it can vary from strong direct lighting to a soft glow depending on the angle and location we are at. I love how versatile it is!
